Sedbergh
General Info
Sedbergh is a small market town in east Cumbria nestled beneath the Howgill Fells and within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town is perfect for those who are looking for walking/mountain biking trails with stunning views, it is also well suited if you fancy a browse round the shops or a brew and a piece of cake in one of their lovely tea rooms.
The town of Sedbergh is well known for being one of England's Book towns, with its main street lined with book shops you will have no trouble finding a book for your next read!

Fishing
* Lune or Rawthey river- need buy a day/weekly ticket from Sedbergh and District Angling Association (Sedbergh Anglers), or become a member. Tickets can be purchased from Premier Express Store, 73 Main Street, Sedbergh.
*Killington Lake- renowned for its pike and roach, as well as stocks of brown trout, day permits can be purchased from the Lock Keepers cottage at the lake, and also from Kendal Sports and Carlsons Fishing Tackle, Kendal.
*Bessy Beck Trout Fishery- at Newbiggin-on-Lune provides year round trout fishing on several small lakes.

*Fairfield Mill- Victorian woollen mill the leading venue for textile arts in the North West
*Holme Open Farm- Guided farm tours run continuously throughout the day at this traditional dales working farm in the Lune Valley about 4 miles south west of Sedbergh.

Cycling
Sedbergh has one of the best mountain bike rides in the United Kingdom: the ridge route along the top of the Howgills from the Calf south to Arant Haw followed by the descent from Winder to Howgill Lane, this is a very tough undertaking as you are faced with a 1770 ft (540m) climb.
* The Lakes & Dales Loop- a 196 mile circular route which passes through Sedbergh on its journey around the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Eden Valley.
* The Yorkshire Dales Cycleway- a 130 mile circular route linking Skipton, Grassington, Malham, Settle, Ingleton, Dent, Hawes, Reeth and Kettlewell.
