The Stainton family have welcomed guests to the farm for over 30 years – in fact I first met David whilst holidaying on the farm with my family and many years later a holiday romance resulted in marriage. Little did I know that one day I would end up living in the cottage we used to holiday in!
While David is busy with working on the farm with his trusty dogs Belle and Jess, I run my own business providing business advice and book-keeping support to local farm businesses. We have three children Jen, Beckie and Chris. Together we enjoy welcoming visitors onto the farm and have made many friends over the years.
THE FARM
Beck House has been farmed by the Stainton family for 3 generations.
Until recently we milked a small herd of Friesian cows, but now rear youngstock and keep approx 350 sheep, mainly the local breed, Kendal Rough Fell. We have 3 sheep dogs Belle, Jess and our latest addition Meg the puppy.
We also have some free range hens that produce the yummiest eggs!
